Accommodation

The hotel properties mentioned in each itinerary should be used solely as an indication. If a confirmed hotel is no longer available, accommodation will be substituted by a comparable alternative. Keep in mind that different countries have different hotel standards. In order to properly classify the quality of accommodation, our experienced team bases their ratings on the following criteria:

  • Classification given to each property by the country’s competent authorities
  • Evaluation of services, amenities and facilities at each property compared to other hotels in the country

3* : Comfort with a reasonable selection of services, amenities and facilities

4* : A wider variety of services, amenities and facilities

    5* : Various high-quality services

Plus + (superior): Between two categories

Charming Hotels and Riads: Normally found in a historic renovated home, offering distinct comfort, ambience and refinement. A great way to experience local culture!

Central Hotels: After a full day of sightseeing, nothing beats a pleasant stroll through the cities and villages! Transat Discoveries offers hotels ideally located in the city centre or near points of interest so that you can sightsee at your leisure.

Bivouacs: Traditional, open-air nomadic homes for an authentic yet comfortable experience.

Boat-Hotels: Comfortable accommodation aboard a traditional boat. A unique experience!

Lodges: Comfortable, eco-friendly accommodation with a typical ambiance in the heart of nature.

    Triple Occupancy
Although most hotels accept reservations for three, triple occupancy is not recommended as hoteliers simply add a third bed (often a cot) to a double room in most cases.

    Air-conditioning & Heating
In certain countries, air-conditioning and heating are not necessarily a standard hotel inclusion. Regardless of the classification, air-conditioners and heaters may not be available at some hotels or might only work during certain times of the day or year.
